Adventure Camp - An Outdoor Education
Any form of play forms an integral part of a child’s routine, be it indoors with dolls and blocks or outdoors with balls, nets and track. However, some form of play may not be a routine but generates thrill and excitement among children of all age groups and these are ‘Adventure Camps’. Students of RPS International School Sec-89 were provided with one such exposure during a Day Adventure Camp on Sunday, December 23 2018 in the school premises. The camp commenced with the students being briefed about the precautions to be taken during the camp and were then divided into smaller groups with an instructor. The campers were exposed to various adventure activities namely Burma Bridge, Tyre Maze, Commando Bridge, Ladder climbing, Zip line, Commando Net, Wall Climbing and other energizing games. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by students was enthralling. This camp helped the students to develop basic athletic skills such as balancing and coordination, pathway and direction in every child as well as it gave them an opportunity to use their bodily intelligence and enjoy their adventurous nature. The students surely had cherished memories and enriching experiences to narrate. Well planned activities combined with fresh air, pristine nature around the camp awakened the spirit of adventure in our young learners - said School Principal, Dr.Roopa Marwaha Bhalla. Overall it was one such platform that provided a reprieve from the mundane and enthused the learners with joy and excitement.
